Welcome to the North Rose Railroad Company!
Since 2004 this massive building has been transforming from an old kidney bean factory into a model railroad empire. The building which was built in 1905 now houses ‘The North Rose Railroad Company’. It is located just off of route 414 in North Rose NY and borders the train tracks that run through the center of town.
This location serves as both the home of the extensive model railroad layouts as well as a home to the owner and curator of the company.
Currently the layouts occupy roughly a 42’ X 100' L shaped area and includes about two miles of Gargraves track, nearly 100 engines and over 1100 cars.
The highly detailed and animated scenery that encompasses the O gauge sized railroad track includes wind farms, city and suburban scenes, construction sites, amusement parks with working roller coasters, bridges, trestles, fast food rows, and much, much more.
Most of the amenities included in the many layouts were personally and painstakingly made by the creator of this marvel of the model train world – Gary Poole – who is the owner and curator of the company.
Gary’s endeavors are driven by his desire to “give back” to the community as well as his passion for model railroading. The return for his efforts is the smiling faces and the thrilled look from both children and older folks alike when they behold the many splendors contained within these walls and also when they recall their own days of owning and operating model trains.
